Strategic Partnership Agreement

On 30 July 2014 the Hungarian government signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement with Ganz Holding Zrt. This was the 48th strategic partnership agreement signed by the Hungarian government. Ganz Holding Zrt. is the third company after Richter and Waberer’s with Hungarian ownership having signed such an agreement with the Hungarian government.

On behalf of the government the agreement was signed by Péter Szijjártó, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Péter Szijjártó said that in 2010 the new Hungarian government set the aim of re-industrialisation in Hungary the success of which is clear to be seen: in Hungary the contribution of the industry to the national economy is the third highest comparing the countries of the EU. The number of employees broke a record to which the industry also contributed by increasing the workplaces.

He stressed that the strategic partnership agreement signed with Ganz Holding Zrt. is the acknowledgement of the performance of the Hungarian engineering industry. The engineering industry plays a significant role in the development of the Hungarian industry, in addition it requires much labour force and operates using a great number of suppliers. Ganz not only contributes to the internal reinforcement of the national economy but Ganz is also a flagship of the Hungarian success abroad. It is present with its products in many countries and has established joint-ventures in cooperation with a number of foreign companies. The number of employees of the company is more than 500 and 70 % of its suppliers are Hungarian companies.

Zoltán Fitos stressed the point that Ganz is one of the few Hungarian companies in the field of engineering industry that played a significant role in the development of the Hungarian industry and its operations are successful even today. The company pays tribute to the 170th anniversary of the establishment of the factory and 2nd centenary of Ganz’s birth by celebrations in 2014. Ganz Holding is one of the largest machinery works in Hungary the products of which are related to railway transport, power generation, water supply, management of water resources, urbanisation and environmental protection.

50-80 % of the products of the holding group are sold abroad in strong international competition and the subsidiaries are subcontrators of leading western companies.

Zoltán Fitos has emphasized that the partnership agreement signed with the government will broaden the market possibilities of the holding group as well as its role in the Hungarian economy and education and the government will get a partner who will contribute to the development of the economy.
